Lily Model Adjustments

There were several adjustments required after the last bit of tweaking. As a last minute decision,we added ear-muffs to complete her autumn-winter look. It would also help in the story as she is oblivion to what is happening at the background.

Lilly made a sort of a list. I got along with changing all those and the model looks definitely better. I uploaded a copy and everyone found it fine. Thus, Lily’s modelling is complete now.

Environment Modeling Checks

Sheng had started modelling the 3D Environment. She was having some trouble with the different props and basic modelling so she asked me to have a check through the objects that she has already made.

Sheng's Modelling

The first problem I could see was that the polygons weren’t given the extra edge. So, when I smoothened them, they deformed badly. I think it is necessary to give it extra edges and smoothen for a proper look. When the lighting set up is completely the polygons would still look flat without giving any edge definition to the surfaces.

Secondly, the patio was modelled separately and the window pieces were placed around it. I think while texturing this would have posed as a problem.

Then, the edges didn’t meet along the mesh. In order, to have more edges to smoothen the final result it was important that the topology be maintained throughout.

The windows were simple and needed extra edges along ends. When smoothened they would have rounded off.

Thus, with Lilly and Sheng’s blessings I have taken over the environment modelling for our project.

Lily Character Adjustments

There were more than twenty changes that we had all agreed on that our model required. Here are some of the changes that were glaring and complying which has changed the model drastically.

Head size was changed, Eyebrows newly modeled, Eyes were modeled afresh.

Ear size was changed, hair shape was changed, head to neck transition was smoothened.

 Scarf was remodeled.
Hand topography was rechecked, Shape was changed further.
Shape of the hand changed, thumb orientation corrected.
T-shirt was elongated and sweater was shortened. Polygons were reduced.
Shape of legs were changed, plus a trouser crease was added on sides
Backside was changed according to specification
The sweater rounded off at the wrong place. That was corrected.
Depth of the hair creases were reduced. Rubber band was modeled into the ponytail.
Close-up of eyes. Eyebrows, changed, eyes remodeled with eyelashes and eyelids falling smoothly over eyes.
Shape of lips changed.

Jawline was smoothed.

Hair shape was changed.

Research Paper and Presentation

I had started writing the research paper quite early on. My language was more conversational as I was putting down my thoughts at random. What was the germ idea behind this research? What made it so intriguing that I wanted to research on it? These became part of my introduction.

As I proceeded further, I had to mention the source inspiration behind my thought process. Then I headed straight into the Behavioural Psychology Theory. It was the basis of my research. Explaining it in detail was necessary to show that I understood it well.

Then, I wrote in the details showing the depth of my research regarding specific bird species going extinct and how I was planning to make them a part of my film. Further, there was a chapter on the Focus Groups that I had conducted followed by its results.

I had changed the templates for my presentation. I created a timeline with pictures that were symbolic of the development of my research which appeared with each slide as its header, completing as a set only in the end. Below are the slides that I used for my presentation.
